I’m a writer, illustrator, and graphic designer. My main focus is picture books, but I am open to all sorts of creative projects.
My goal is to create stories that appeal to both kids and the grown-ups who read with them—stories that lead with humor and follow through with heart. I love wordplay, metaphor, and absurdity, and I believe that pictures are just as important as words in telling a story.

In the past I’ve been a camp counselor, a cheesemonger, and the person who answers the “how am I driving?” hotline. When I’m not making books I’m often knitting, running with my family, or teaching my cats to high-five.
Like Prince, I live inside my own heart. Mine is usually in Massachusetts.
